Full Moon in Chile, Rising over Andes Mountains Sunset

Full Moon, Mountain Sunset

So the saying goes: there really are good things about Chile - not only the landscape. Hehe.

Various circles of hell are represented in Santiago, and the nice parts represent N. American, urban hell, sterile, sweltering and dull, while the poorer parts are more classically a lung-constricting third world hell. Nevertheless, barring excessive smog, the bordering mountains are visible and that makes up for it somewhat.

Good pic. I remember back in 1993 there was a massive eclipse, and the main spot was Putre (I Región). Man, huge techno party called 'The Rave of the Eclipse', it was brilliant and everybody was wasted, totally decadent. Ahh, nostalgia.

I was 17 at the time. I wonder what happened to Rave parties.

Ugh. I knew their must have been some cause for your half-baked premises and tepid argumentation style. It's not all the
E you consumed in the 90's, it's the fact that you were inclined to go to raves in the first place!

Actually I shouldn't talk so fast.
I was a teen in the late 90's and was intrigued. Snuck off to one rave once. Didn't do any drugs, but even so it was fun because it was well produced. So I can understand. I can't judge too harshly. But people who got really into raves, and swore by books like John Livingston Seagull [shudder].

Overall I think raves, their music, drugs and ethos really catered to a lower IQ bracket. The parties died quickly and this decade most ravers seem to have been relegated to clicking "Thumbs Up" on highly doctored photos of fantasy lands on social networking sites like StumbleUpon.

That, or spamming people (whether online or in conversation) and mindless, unsubstantiated tripe a la movies like "What the Bleep..." and "The Secret".

It is true, the lower the IQ, the more into tecno. And I was a huge fan of it.

I don't know why in Chile it was so big. I recall one of your posts on people you met who were into New Order and Depeche Mode. There must be a reason why that was such a big thing in Chile (as opposed to other South American countries).

Now, the Love Parade in Santiago was cancelled cos it was just too flaite.
