Chile Earthquakes, Santiago Times, GE, Coca Cola & the Law

Image thanks to Rudolfo Berríos. It'll make sense later.

Interesting story from the Santiago Times complementing my extensive coverage of the reporting of the Chile earthquake that was followed up with an in-progress Guide to Earthquake Preparedness, with government resources. The Santiago Times piece, written by Matt Malinowski one of their long time and better writers, covers price gouging, unrest and bureaucratic unpreparedness, police clampdown - all sourced from local radio and newspaper.

Couldn't help but notice two things in the following snippet:

Only highlighted "about" because it looks kinda like the Chilean flag. Thus concludes Part II of The Santiago Times-inspired, The Santiago Typos.

The other thing I noticed is the involvement of Dutch born Subsecretary of the Interior, Felipe Harboe, one dirty sonuvabitch who called University of Chile students terrorists, after the cops planted evidence. Sell off those $4 water bottles fast as you can cuz the Law is in Town, it'll be interesting to see how Felipe handles the aftermath of the earthquakes in Chile.

Terminating my Sunday Chile News summary, Tomás has made another cameo, this time donning a tinfoil hat and muttering about Google Earth, El Mercurio and black helicopters.
