Copper Porn - Free For How Long?

Bloomberg reports the government's take-no-prisoners approach to quelling complaints that booming copper revenue isn't being funneled directly back into society, solving once-and-for-all the Chilean idiot problem by feeding them the content they'll respond to best:
The government is tackling that knowledge gap by distributing 11 films about copper to libraries for patrons to check out. Some show miners digging in deposits or using explosives to blast copper-rich rock. Another traces the history of a commodities boom that dragged the economy down when the industry crashed in the early 20th century.
My only question is: how are the libraries going to deal with the demand?

"Some show miners digging in deposits..."

Is that some sort of innuendo?

Not to be a pest - but here's Naomi Klein again - interviewed by a national magazine ... "toronto Life".

I'm going to see her speak in Vancouver in a week ... she's a bit 'over the top' (similar to a Yank I know in Chile - haha) but her book is not easily dismissed - and certainly nails Chile in recent years - the Friedman-doctrine 'nails' that even the Aylwin/Frei/Lagos/Bachelet years have been unable to extract.
Have a good time in your visit home.

... and here's a lead article in this week's Macleans Magazine (Canada's 'Time/Newsweek' equivalent).
It will get you 'excited' ... I think I'll submit a rebuttal - or perhaps you should.

Hey, this is a really cool blog; congratulations! I've frequently noticed how foreigners tend to have a quite asertive look into chilean society. Seems we are too close to see the obvious.
