Just Married Chilean Style - Review of Kyle's Blog
This is a review of Kyle's blog, Just Married Chilean Style
I believe this is the only blog about Chile written by a professional blogger. Yet "Just Married Chilean Style" isn't Kyle's day job, and to such exemplary non-day-job blogging all I can say is, like the old cliché about how to summarize a horrible movie, "at least the photography is good!" Actually, Kyle's photography really is good, imho. Worth checking out. And if you can stomach the constant references to failed weight loss goals and her band of "you go girl!" commentators, you'll find some pithy and downright hilarious observations about her experience in Chile.
Take this entry on "Chinese Food" (which isn't about Chinese food), where she talks about adapting to Chilean life after a couple years living here:

Instead of some exotic location, this is just another dirty city. I don't think the dogs I see are cute anymore, I don't feel bad that they eat trash....It's a strange blog, but for anyone trying to develop a comprehensive impression of what it's like living abroad in Chile, this will definitely add value.

i like this blog and its sister (http://lovetotravelchile.com i think). It's refreshingly honest and to the point and there are some pretty cool photos. I really like the way she whines and complains about things-it's a kind of 'look on the bright side' positive style and quite amusing with it. the white text on black background gives me one hell of a headache, though.
You know slouchmonster still hasn't got around to posting anything. Lazy bastard.
I second that about the black background, it's offensive. The majority of backgrounds online are white, and toggling back to white hurts my eyes. Kyle, it's easy to change. And you better, we're your only relevant fans.
Well a while back Google unveiled "Blackle", a version of their search engine with an ebony background.
http://www.blackle.com
The company says the black colored screen is good for environmental reasons. The new screen uses less energy, and with the millions of hits Goggles gets a day - it could potentially save more natural resources like oil.
FL: someone of your intelligence and sense of style should NOT be promoting blackle, for two reasons:
1. Its faulty science has been roundly discredited (black screens use even MORE energy!).
2. Black background is butt-ugly and you know it.
Oh yeah, one more thing, you say
>>>Google unveiled "Blackle"
Not true, it's got nothing to do with Google.
Anyway, the point here is to convince Kyle to change her screen color. Nah, just joking. The point is to REVIEW Kyle's blog. Thanks Matt for being the first!
Anyone else want to review Kyle's Chile blog? C'mon! It'll be fun!
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I like the black background...I've been thinking about trying to customize my layout though, so I'll see what I can do. I never knew black was so unpopular. This was an eye opening experience.
Thanks for the review, Chileno! I started getting all these sneaky anonymous comments and it wasn't until I checked my stat counter that I figured out where all these newbies were coming from.
Pithy is right...
She also goes after mediocre cuica bitches with superiority complexes and unfortunate compulsions to dress like a disco ball.
Come on Kyle, send that email.
I have mixed feelings about LovetoTravel.
Sure, its an all-purpose tourist guide and probably a good business idea, even. It is a good resource its seeming. But, your photos are really rich and delicious and the opening photo of La Moneda is great.
The black doesn't really bother me and I really love here photos, both here and on her other blog.
A friggin' good read that girl is, in both blogs! I, as well, married in Chile and started a busines based in northern Chile. I love her whinin' bitchin' 'n whingein' with a positive bend to it.
