A Chile Tale - A Blog Review
This is a review of Ray's blog, A Chile Tale
A while back I was looking at this blog and kinda wrote it off as another one of those lets-not-post-for-awhile-until-a-weird-death-happens-back-home and then suddenly this blog, ostensibly about "Chile" turns into a totally bizarre and uncomfortable narrative, inappropriate. Ray also wasn't allowing comments so the red letters l-a-m-e started flashing.
But checking back before writing this review, I'm seeing some major improvement. She's enabled comments, and her depictions of Chile are more interesting. In fact it's with a heavy heart that I announce her departure from this Great Land. I should point out, however, that her heart seems far from heavy. In fact, imminent departure seems to be causing each entry of hers to one-up the next in its level of vindictive vitriol toward Chile. Bring it on. Check out her list of the top 12 inanities of Chilean women, and then, as she's composing another list of diatribe, this seismic tremor rattles her off course. She's even posting pictures of living babies! This is awesome! Hopefully she'll keep blogging about Chile.
Regardless, there's plenty of material about Chile now it's your turn to write a review of A Chile Tale in the comments section below.
And after you're finished with that, come back and help us review more bloggers in Chile!

I really enjoy this blog. She goes through a lot of the same things that I do in this country. As a foreigners that are married to Chilean men we've had similar frustrations here.
She's really straight forward about how she feels about this place and I admire that.
She says she appreciates criticism but it's not true.
I made one comment there replying to her 'chilean women' post simply explaining some of my contrasting experiences in Chile, and that many of her complaints are actually issues that one would experience in most small backwards towns in any country in the world, and are not necessarily representative of Chile as a whole as she repeatedly claims.
She refused to publish it.
I wanted to sympathize with her, as I am sure living in Linares sucks, really. It is probably the worst place in Chile being full of small-town rich right-wing idiots who think they are more important than they are.
But her refusal to publish my perfectly reasonable and kindly worded comment means I must give her blog a big thumbs down.
Of course there are some accurate things she says but overall it's very frustrating to read her talk about one backwards small town and consistently make the comments "Chileans are like this".
It is akin to me as if someone went to live in a small crappy town in Texas and made a blog complaining of how stupid US people are.
A little reality check please.
The saddest part is that her daughter is half-Chilean and she will grow being taught Chile is this terrible backwards place when in my opinion there are a number of things Chileans can be proud of and some parts of Chile are actually nice places to live and have significant advantages over her idolized London.
What a bitch. Well, give her a second chance sometimes I do that too, miss comments just because of technical glitches. But you could be on to something more than just technical glitches, she's had kinduva shady history with comments, in my experience. Still, I'd recommend dropping in a WTF comment just to get to the bottom of it, if you still care.
This is one HILARIOUS blog!!!
I like bizarre and uncomfortable narratives ;-)
